Education and training
Wade received his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (M.S.O.M) from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado where he interned in Sports Medicine, Japanese Style Acupuncture and Oncology Clinics.
He completed his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (D.A.O.M) at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon, rated the #1 school in the nation for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. He specializes in treating pain and improving performance with professional athletes, with acupuncture. His doctoral focus was Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob-Gyn), and Geriatrics. He interned at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) Family Practice at the Waterfront, Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya and a hospital in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Wade is currently certified to practice Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology nationally by the NCCAOM and by the State of Oregon through the Oregon Medical Board. Wade is a professional member of the American Association of Oriental Medicine (AAOM). He is also certified to treat Facial Rejuvenation and Allergies (NAET) with Acupuncture.
Wade treats using a mixture of Master Tung, Richard Tan and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) styles. He also tries to be as painless as possible especially for those who don't like needles or are sensitive to needles. In his Tigard clinic, he will use laser treatments for those who are needle sensitive or phobic, like kids.
Wade uses acupuncture, electrical stimulation, herbal medicine, western nutritional supplements, and dietary recommendations to get his patients to get better faster. As an alternative health care practitioner, Wade sees many patients with a wide variety of conditions and has a high success rate treating patients for general pain issues, sports injuries, fertility and conception, pregnancy-related issues, allergies, digestive disorders, internal medicine issues and many more.
Wade found Chinese Medicine more than 15 years ago when he had IBS and could not find a solution for it through Western Medicine. He found a Chinese Medicine doctor in Hawaii and was able to get Acupuncture and herbs which healed him completely. He was so astonished by the results that he decided to pursue Chinese medicine instead of Western medicine (which he was planning to go to school for)
Outside of his love for learning more about Acupuncture, Wade loves surfing, playing basketball, flag football, skiing, rock climbing and golf.
